TODAY IS F DAY. Periods 3, 1, 5 and 7.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – ALL STUDENTS & STAFF
DISTRICT MISSION:
The mission of the Bridgeport Public Schools and its supporting community is to graduate all students “college ready” and prepared to succeed.
PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
All students, it is through your hard work that will make Central High School one of the best high schools in the state!
In recognition of Black History Month, I will continue to give you some of our famous African-Americans. Bill Cosby began as a stand-up comic and ended up as one of America’s most beloved television stars. His comedy career was kick-started by a 1963 appearance on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show”, and Cosby won multiple Grammy Awards for comedy recordings throughout the 1960’s. He was particularly known for routines about childhood friends like “Fat Albert” and “Old Weird Harold.” In 1965 Cosby starred with Robert Culp in the spoofy TV series “I Spy”, making him one of the few African-American stars on prime-time TV. From 1984 – 1992, he dominated prime-time TV with “The Cosby Show,” a family comedy. The show was a huge hit along with the 1986 book “Fatherhood”, which re-established Cosby as a leading comedian. Bill Cosby earned a bachelors degree from Temple University, and a PhD in Education from the University of Massachusetts.
Our African-American History Assembly before vacation was very successful! I want to thank Ms. Fians & Ms. Anekwe for putting it all together as well as all the students who performed!Next
Next Monday, we will be beginning our CAPT testing. All seniors and most juniors will have a late entry between 9:30 and 10 a.m. All 9th and 10th graders must report at regular times. All 10th graders must take this test seriously! It is part of your graduation expectation! Also, this test is a measure of how well Central High School does in comparison to other schools in the city and state. Our students are great so lets prove it to other schools!
Seniors, there will be an assembly tomorrow morning in the auditorium called “Making it Count.” It begins @ 8:30 and should be over @ 9:30. All senior class teachers and students must be present.
All juniors need to turn in a completed physical to the school nurse. Sports physicals are acceptable. Blue physical forms were mailed home on January 29th. Parents / guardians should be making appointments for students. Appointments should be made for after school hours.
Students, there has been a rise once again regarding disrespectful and inappropriate language around the building. Please refrain from this type of behavior. Our students are better than that!
Our mission is to graduate all students’ college ready, we believe all students can achieve academic excellence and every day we get closer to that mission!

This is not in your best interest as it will affect your education which is very important if you are serious about being successful in life. Make good choices for you and your family!
Students please continue the good practice of not using vulgar language throughout the school day as well as not using words that create harm to others. It is inappropriate and will not be tolerated!
