ANNOUNCEMENTS – ALL STUDENTS & STAFF
DISTRICT MISSION:
The mission of the Bridgeport Public Schools and its supporting community is to graduate all students “college ready” and prepared to succeed.
PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
· All students, it is through your hard work that will make Central High School one of the best high schools in the state!
· Today is day 3 of our mid-term exams; periods 5 and 6. Students should continue studying to do their very best. The end of the marking period is tomorrow!
· Every student, regardless of their current grades, MUST take the mid-term exam in your class. There are no exceptions!
· Regarding making up the mid-terms for Mr. Chu’s biology classes: His period 2 mid-terms will be given today, January 24th @ 1 p.m. in room C212.
· Teachers are reminded that exams must be given as scheduled and no one is to administer an early exam to any class or student unless approved in advance by your house administrator or myself.
· All students that need to make up their mid-terms must seek out their teachers for the best times to do so. This is the student’s responsibility.
· During the exams, no student will be allowed to exit the classroom unless it is an extreme emergency. Students must have a pass if they are allowed to exit an exam.
· Just a reminder to all teachers: you have until 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 31st to enter their grades into SASI.
· THIS WEEK, DURING MID-TERMS, THERE WILL BE NO GEAR-UP, DETENTION OR COMMUNITY SERVICE AFTER SCHOOL.
· Students, a continuous reminder that if you do not report to class, it is your responsibility to inform the teacher as to why you were not in their class. If you were absent for the day, your parent or guardian must inform your house office or you will be considered cut.
· ID cards must be worn around your neck at all times. This is mandatory for your safety. Staff, lets continue to reinforce this policy. Thank you for your support.
· Hats, cell phones, IPODS and electronic devices are not to be seen during school hours. If they are seen, they will be confiscated and returned the next day. Remember, if you refuse to give up the items, it will result in an OSS.
· Students, a reminder that you must serve your detention and community service. You have 3 days (in a row) to serve your detention. If you do not serve it, it will result in an OSS.
· Students are doing much better regarding the respectful and appropriate language they are using throughout the building, and also not hanging around the school building during or after school hours. I have noticed fewer students outside the building. Keep it up!
· There have been several organizations in the gym after school without an advisor. Please DO NOT participate in an after school activity without an advisor!
· At the end of the day, unless you are in an after school activity or sport, you are to leave the building and school campus. Students that are not involved in an after school activity or sport, are not allowed to take the late bus. And as a reminder, an adult must supervise all students at all times.
· Our mission is to graduate all students’ college ready, we believe all students can achieve academic excellence and every day we get closer to that mission!
